Dr. Mark Blokland, our clinic Director, is well known for his passionate approach to health and wellbeing in his chiropractic clinics, and also the equine sector, as he has worked closely with horses and riders for several years now. More recently, having worked with Andrew Hoy, international equestrian rider, at his new clinic in Kembrey Park, he has decided to offer this unique package to a wider audience. Mark will be sharing both his favourite contacts in the industry, and his skills, with those riders that are looking to improve their own performance and that of their horses.
Mark says "Too many times the horse has been blamed for a bad back or trotting up lame! There is an abundance of therapists willing to massage or claim to correct horse alignment, that actually fail to see the cause of the problem, ie. the rider. Our philosophy at Ridgeway Medi-Spa is that by identifying the causing factor first, we can then design the best approach to the problem. This filters through to the equestrian sector perfectly, as too often the primary fault lies with the rider! When last did you look in the mirror? The best riders in the world now consider their own fitness, core strength and stability, and spinal fitness to be an integral part of their development.
